DIY Quiet-book Dollshouse - Dining Room

Now let's look at the dining room...
I chose colours to try to compliment those in the kitchen as I knew that I would be placing them side-by-side.
The clock was made by cutting a black disc of felt out, and then cutting another circle within it. I embroidered the numbers directly through it and the page layers for both the decorative look and as the only form of fixing it onto the page. The hands were made from two layers of felt blanket-stitched together. To fix them to the page and make them movable, I double-knotted a six-strand length of black embroidery thread and threaded both ends through a wool needle. I pushed this through both hands and the page layers at only one point and then triple-knotted it again on the back side to hold it in place. The plant pot was a simple one-layer square of white felt, the side-table one layer of light brown felt with a contrasting dark brown felt rectangle, each of which used decorative back-stitching to sew through the page layers and attach them to the page. I also used decorative back-stitch to make the green flower stems for the rose buttons. The chair was made with one layer of felt and sewn on before I made a double-layer table that was blanket-stitched together and sewn with back-stitch through the page layers only on the sides with the chair legs as you can see in the pictures. I left a gap in the middle to tuck the doll into so it could look like she was sat at the table.
To make the window, I cut out two layers of felt to form the frame and blanket-stitched along every edge to make it more sturdy. I then sewed it through the layers of the page along three of the outer edges with back-stitch, leaving one edge for inserting the view through the window. (You could use either a two-sided felt window insert with day/night on it like I did or draw/just print out a picture and stick it onto cardboard.) I would recommend only sewing along the parallel top and bottom long edges of the window though, as it makes it easier to pull the insert through, rather than try to push it in. This is what I did with the windows in later rooms.
I unfortunately didn't take many photos as I was making this page but here are the ones I did take during the process. This room is a lot less intricate than the other ones though so hopefully from looking at the other room tutorials you can still work out how to put this one together.
So there we have it, first two rooms complete! :) Next we'll do the living room pages.
